The names of the characters help students get comfortable with consonant blends, and the words in the book that are not on the Dolch Pre-Primer sight word list, are either on one of the more advanced Dolch lists, are easy to sound out, or are easy to guess based on context clues. This book is great for early readers, as well as students needing to review the pre-primer level.
